The Dive Team
Move
Jason Herlick is the youngest member of our training team and has been a 3 Fathoms diver since the beginning of 2005. In that short period of time, he has distinguished himself as a Dive Control Specialist; and, in 2007, became our newest Open Water Instructor. His specialties are assisting as a leader with our Scuba Ranger program and also in the world of underwater digital photography. Jason's energy and boundless enthusiasm for all aspects of the sport of scuba diving is unparalleled.
Asta & Kris Johannesson are both an integral part of the 3 Fathoms training team. Since their certification as divers in 2004, they have logged more underwater hours than most. Becoming a Dive Control Specialist gave Kris the opportunity to pass on his wealth of knowledge and skill to the next generation of divers. Along with his soul mate Asta, they both take great delight in leading new divers on their first few tentative underwater adventures.
Brian Tucker can’t get enough of scuba diving. If not for the fact that he has a business to run, he would spend every waking hour underwater. Since learning to dive at the beginning of 2003, he has progressed through his Advanced and Master Diver training, culminating in joining the dive team as a Dive Control Specialist. For the past 3 years, Brian has been on the unending quest for that perfect underwater digital photograph.
Michelle Wetton became a diver at the beginning of the 2005 dive season. Working with school age children already being one of her passions, and scuba diving being the other, she established herself as the first SSI Scuba Ranger Leader in Manitoba. Her name is quickly becoming a household word with 8 to 12 year olds and their family members. She also became one of our treasured Dive Control Specialists at the beginning of 2008.
Frank Filbert began his diving career after joining the Royal Canadian Navy, at the tender age of 16 years old, and has been an avid scuba diver ever since. His wealth of knowledge and experience is a highly treasured commodity by all our divers and instructors alike. His diving exploits span the globe, from the Caribbean Sea to the Micronesian Islands and the Red Sea, experience which he never hesitates in passing on to new divers. His move into the Dive Control Specialist position made an extremely welcome addition to our instructional team.
Robin Larkins has been involved with Michelle and the Scuba Rangers since returning from our British Columbia trip in April of 2008. After discovering that working with the younger divers is a lot of fun, he has become a permanent fixture with our Ranger instructional program.
