Your Scuba Diving Adventure might start with the Try Scuba, Passport Diver, or Open Water Diver program at 3 Fathoms S.C.U.B.A. and, with some perseverance, culminate at the highest recognition level in diving: SSI’s Platinum Pro5000 Diver award. Between the beginning point and the pinnacle of diving achievement are many years of diving enjoyment, and 3 Fathoms S.C.U.B.A. has the educational programs to take you there.

Try Scuba Program

If you want to just try it!
Try Scuba is an orientation to diving that allows non-divers to experience the thrill of diving under the direct supervision of a dive leader, with a minimal amount of instruction time. All equipment is
supplied by 3 Fathoms S.C.U.B.A.

Passport Diver Program

If you just don't have enough time!
Are you planning a vacation and want to dive at your destination? With SSI’s Passport Diver Program, you can earn a passport to adventure and dive on colorful, shallow-water reefs under the direct supervision of a dive leader. The Passport Diver Program takes dive training to a new level of convenience and accessibility for first-time divers by focusing on just the knowledge and skills required to dive proficiently under the direct supervision of a dive leader. All Passport Diver Program experience can be applied to your Open Water Certification Course at a later date, if you wish.

Open Water Diver Course

Your first certification level!
Diving offers a lifetime of exciting adventure and the ideal way to begin that adventure is with SSI’s Open Water Diver course offered by 3 Fathoms S.C.U.B.A. Under the guidance of a professional SSI Instructor, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of underwater exploration. With SSI’s home study approach, you will be able to minimize your time in the classroom allowing for more time in the water, developing your ability and comfort. You will have fun practicing all your scuba skills with SSI’s exclusive Comfort Through Repetition teaching method.

Levels of Recognition

Because you deserve it!
Chart your progress, achieve your goals, and get the credit you deserve. Diving often becomes a lifetime of adventure, and the more you dive, the more important it becomes to measure your experience. SSI’s ten Levels of Experience start at five dives (Level 1) and culminate with 5,000 dives (the coveted Platinum Pro level of recognition).

  • A Level 5 Diver with 100 dives is eligible for the Century Diver recognition card.
  • The Gold 500 Diver is a Level 9 Diver with 500 recorded dives.
  • The Platinum 1000 Diver has reached Level 10 and the 1,000 dive mark.
  • The highest honor, the Platinum Pro 5000 Diver, is reserved for divers that have reached the pro level and surpassed 5,000 dives. A small, but very special group of divers around the world have the privilege to carry the SSI Platinum Pro 5000 Diver Card - the highest recognition level in the diving industry.
